My Burst Series combines early memories of discovering quartz crystals, granite
and mica stones with my parents in Herkimer, NY, with my astonishing reaction to
the light transmissions and gilded rays I viewed in Bernini's Roman sculpture.
When I presented these works in my first solo sculpture show in NYC, I was
surprised to hear Professor Ted Kurahara, from Pratt remark "I see you have been
to Italy."
